Special unexpected meal while hiking…

Pelion mountain in Greece is a great choice for hiking on a hot day… why is that? Climbing up the mountain where is cooler will give you such a pleasure and there’s a whole new world to explore and find hidden places and things when hiking!

Except that you excercise and enjoy the surroundings of Pelion, you might also come across with wild mushrooms…an exceptional tasteful meze.

But not all mushrooms are safe as you know. Only experienced habitats can recognise the safe and no poisonous ones. So, ask them! Walk with them… Learn from them… Trust them… And at the end of your hiking day you can taste them in different cooking ways..

Mushrooms are well hidden so practice your vision…and if you’re lucky and pick some, then it’s time to look for a great cook to handle this delicious meze with care!

There are several ways to cook wild mushrooms and give an extra boost on their flavor. From fried mushrooms covered with flour to cooked in oven with tomato sauce and peppers, they’re going to be fantastic!

Served with your preferred red wine or tsipouro and handmade bread…Just amazing!
